Friday Night Lights: On or off?
Posted
2 yrs 2 mos ago
Friday, October 5 marks the return of Texan high-school football drama Friday Night Lights to your television screens. Touted as a sports show that scores points with lady viewers on its soap opera elements, Friday Night Lights takes pains to ensure that everyone on the show is easy to look at, including Jesse Plemons, who was interviewed on the 2007 Emmy Awards red carpet by Buzznet's Clint Catalyst. Jesse's squint and grin are slightly reminiscent of Matt Damon. Is Jesse enough to make you go for first downs with Friday Night Lights, or would you prefer to punt?

Evan Rachel Wood and Marilyn Manson: Weird lookin'?
Posted
2 yrs 2 mos ago
Teen-age movie star Evan Rachel Wood expected snide hater commentary when she hooked up with 38-year-old goth Marilyn Manson. Snide hater commentary did arrive, but not what Evan Rachel had anticipated: "I thought we would get a hard time about the age difference, but it's more about the fact that we look so different. I've really gotten to see the worst side of human beings." If you were a hater, would you despise Marilyn and Evan for their age or their odd style?

Songwriting is killing Ville Valo. What can he do?
Posted
2 yrs 2 mos ago
Being singer and lyricist for a top rock band is a more hazardous than you might think. Finnish vocalist Ville Valo has confessed that he has considered quitting HIM due to the emotional turmoil of the songwriting process. "You open the door for the demons, and everything just f**king comes out.
"Now the meltdowns are getting worse, and the depression won't go away; it's like being haunted by the most vile creatures ever created.... I just don't know if I'm prepared emotionally or mentally to write another song." Should Ville try writing some happy tunes for a change? |

wiL Francis: sell out or survivor?
Posted
2 yrs 2 mos ago
For Aiden's frontman wiL Francis music was never something he entered as a careerist. Francis joined a band for an outlet to keep from self-destructing. But now that Aiden is selling enough albums that cars can be bought, is wiL's mission compromised? “Listen," said wiL to the San Francisco Examiner, "I’m just a punk rock grunge kid from Seattle who taught myself to play guitar and started my own band. I never went to LA to be a rock star.” If Aiden earns millions of dollars through wiL Francis's artistic release, is he a sell out or a survivor?

Who's hotter: Jared Leto or Bartholomew Cubbins?
Posted
2 yrs 2 mos ago
When 30 Seconds to Mars needs creative input, they rarely need to look past frontman Jared Leto. The Australian MTV Awards named "The Kill" both “Rock Video Of The Year” and “Video Of The Year.” Who directed that video, as well as the one for "From Yesterday"? A seldom seen fellow named Bartholomew Cubbins. Bartholomew is an alias adopted by Jared Leto for working behind the cameras on 30STM videos. When is Jared hotter? On stage, or pulling the creative strings behind the scenes?
