Evidently, the worldwide trend for hair extensions has resulted in a black market of stolen hair being pilfered off the skulls of motherless Eastern European waifs. Since Winehouse relies upon hair other than her own to stack her trademark rat's nest do, she decided to cough up the dough in an effort to raise awareness of the orphans' plight. Would a better gesture be to stop using extensions and cease contributing to the trend that caused the problem?
