Madonna makes a fiesty AARP spokesperson

Old people can be lively a bit of fun in the sack. Just ask Madonna:

“Not only does society suffer from racism and sexism but it also suffers from ageism. Once you reach a certain age you’re not allowed to be adventurous, you’re not allowed to be sexual. I mean, is there a rule? Are you supposed to just die?”

My Chemical Condolences: Post a get-well card to Bob Bryar

Hopefully nobody is any further shocked and dismayed by reports that My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar is battling a work-related tendon injury in one of his drumming arms.  This pained tendon has deprived MCR fans of Bob's drumming, and has also caused Bob no small degree of physical discomfort.

Wouldn't we all feel better if we took a break from our personal disappointment and sent a get-well message to Bob Bryar?

Take a moment to speed your good wishes through the My Chemical Column forum, linked here.

You'll be glad you did.

Ville Valo inspirational movie spoiler

From Vancouver, Canada's Georgia Straight:
Thirty-year-old Valo discovered his affinity for the darker side of rock as a kid, when he heard a few bars of Blue Oyster Cult's "(Don't Fear) the Reaper" while watching John Carpenter's Halloween. "It's playing on the radio in the very beginning of the movie," he points out, "when Jamie Lee Curtis is smokin' a joint with her friend in the car. They only played it for like 20 seconds, but I loved the melody, and I had to find out what that song was. So I waited until the end credits, and then I went into a local library and recorded it on cassette, and then later on I bought the album."

Rumor is it's a Rumer Willis spoiler

From People magazine:

Rumer Willis is ready to accept the ’round-the-clock responsibility of being famous. Presented over the weekend with a Rumer Willis Polly Pocket Doll – which she helped auction off for $5,500 to charity – at the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation’s annual Dream Halloween benefit in Santa Monica, Calif., the 19-year-old (and eldest) daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, joked, “I feel like I’m really famous now.”

But when it really comes to the fame game, Willis – who has become a gossip-blog fixture in recent months – tells PEOPLE, “Before I started working, I would have said, ‘You know, it’s not really fair, because I didn’t choose this.’ But when you decide to be a part of this profession and put yourself out there, then you kind of have to accept what it is.” Willis says that her famous parents – including stepdad Ashton Kutcher – aren’t worried about her, even though being a celebrity means having a very public life. “I think they know that I’ve had great role models,” she said.

Still, notoriety does offer its obstacles. “It’s a 24-hour job,” she says. “It doesn’t matter if you are going out to a restaurant – you have to be aware of what you are doing and how you look and how you are presenting yourself, because most of the time people never get to know you.” But at its heart, she says of celebrity, “Being famous isn’t going to parties … it’s about being able to use the power that we all have to kind of give back.”

Gerard Way's Biggest Honor Spoiler

"This is the biggest honor we've ever had," said lead singer Gerard Way, "to be able to play in this new arena and to open for a band I listened to from third grade to now. I'm no Jon, but I do a pretty amazing karaoke version of 'Livin' On A Prayer."'

Tokio Hotel invade Israel: 8 injured

According to Y Net News, at least eight Israeli music fans had cause to rethink their devotion to German girly boy sensations Tokio Hotel after a performance in Tel Aviv Saturday night.  The Israeli embassy in Germany had lured the band to the Holy Land, presenting them with a massive petition pleading for a Tokio show.  Unfortunately, prior to the concert, a pair of glass doors outside the hall shattered, sending a handful of fans to hospital.  No word yet on whether or not the injured parties have demanded their names be scratched from the petition.

My Chemical Romance has two singles on the way

My Chemical Romance are not finished with The Black Parade yet. Singer/creator Gerard Way has revealed that the group plans to release two more singles from their groundbreaking album.  A video will be shot for each song, both directed by Gerard.  Although this news is less exciting than if there had been an announcement that a new MCR album is recorded and ready to go, fans should be happy to learn that Mikey Way will rejoin the band for fall touring.

Kate Moss before and after Courtney Love

Despite having carried the burden of a junkie boyfriend for the past few years, waif model Kate Moss continues to embody elegance, style and glamour.  Unless serial stumbler Courtney Love is in the neighborhood.

Looking radiant, Kate arrived at London's Victoria and Albert Museum Wednesday evening to celebrate the Golden Age of Couture.  Moss moved like a vision in her vintage gown.  A two-foot train of satin trailing behind, as though Kate were walking on a golden cloud.

Until Courtney, fresh from a rehab visit with Kate's ex, Pete Doherty, clomped on the hem of Moss's irreplacable dress, ripping a hole in the delicate garment, ruining it forever.

Courtney Love: from trainwreck to train wrecker.

Davey Havok makes a hot list

Acclaim has been no stranger to Davey Havok.  The singer and presumed spokesman of AFI has been widely applauded for his musical achievements and widely desired for his charismatic personal physicality, but none of that is why Davey was included in the New York Post's weekend hot list.  Havok received the honor due to a T-shirt. Aside from launching Blaqk Audio, the singer  also oversees a clothing line called Paden. It was a shirt from this endeavor, decorated with a dancing square of tofu, that captured the Post's imagination.  The Post seemed shocked that the pieces weren't all in blaqk.

Ville Valo is taking HIM to hell

Anyone looking for sunshine and butterflies from Venus Doom, the upcoming album by Finnish metal melders HIM, should beware the warnings of singer Ville Valo.  According to LiveDaily, Valo boasts that the new collection is "like a trip into my personal hell... I felt that we needed more punching to the face type of thing."

Does that mean a portable Bam Margera is packaged with every CD?

Tokio Hotel: Let the games begin

Although they have yet to produce a major American release, German wunder kids Tokio Hotel are poised to saturate the English-speaking universe with ways to waste time on your phone.  Artificial Life, Inc., a Hong Kong company, has signed Germany's most girly boy band to create phone games in time for the 2007 Christmas rush.

The games will be available in several languages, English prominent among them.

No word yet on proposed content of the games, but makeup application should certainly be in the mix.

Ryan Ross rings in 21 at Pete Wentz's bar

New York City is a perfect place to turn 21. Rolling Stone reports that Panic! at the Disco guitarist Ryan Ross took advantage of his in with bar-owner Pete Wentz to celebrate the arrival of adulthood at Angels and Kings. The East Village so-called dive bar boasts several Panic! labelmates as investors, many of whom were in attendance to have their eyes bug out at the sight of Ryan's girlfriend, Keltie Colleen, popping out of a gift box.  For those more interested in the band's new album than the spectacle, Ryan has promised, "We're trying to finish up in the next month, month and a half."  And then it will be time for another Angels and Kings party.

Is Ali Lohan on course to be another celebrity car crash?

If your big sister was rehab post-graduate Lindsay Lohan, you'd have a lot to live up to.  Lindsay's 13-year-old li'l sis Ali Lohan seems perfectly capable of filling her older sibling's shoes.  If traffic accidents mean anything.

InTouch is reporting that Ali snuck out of Lohan manor and went for a cruise with an older man.  That dude, not quite 16, had a learner's permit and a car he apparently had not asked Mom permission to drive.  The driver also -- we can extrapolate -- had trouble keeping his eyes off Ali, which resulted in the traffic accident.  No one was hurt, but at 13, Ali still has so much time ahead of her.

Nicole Richie wins jail time sweepstakes!

There is a price to pay for being so loaded that you drive an SUV the wrong way on a California freeway.  If you are Nicole Richie, that price is 82 minutes in jail.

Because of over-crowding -- the jail is so compact that they didn't even have room for a girl whose limbs could be used as coffee stirrers -- Nicole's four-day bit was cut down to just under an hour and a half.

Nicole's fellow impaired driver Lindsay Lohan received a one-day sentence yesterday for two drunk driving incidents, one which involved a crash and fleeing of the scene, the other including a high-speed vehicular pursuit, and both garnished with cocaine traces.  If Nicole's incarceration formula is applied to Lindsay's sentence, Lohan could be out of there in 20 minutes -- or right around when she needs her next cigarette.

Somewhere out on Rikers Island, Foxy Brown must be wondering what a celebrity needs to do to get a break.  Foxy was recently ordered to sit in jail awaiting a court hearing coming up in early September.  The volatile rapper could end up doing more slammer time than even Paris Hilton, who screamed, cried and pouted through 20-plus days of incarceration.

Now Paris must be wondering what the hell was wrong with her lawyers.

Amy Winehouse is a bloody mess.

The glamorous life is looking worse every day for binging druggy Amy Winehouse.  The queen of revolving door rehab is currently all across the Internet in gruesome bloodied up photos that would turn a paramedic's stomach.

The candid shots were reportedly captured following an early morning pitched battle between Amy and her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil.

Blake, who appeared to be even more sliced up than his wife, has now been placed at the top of the list of Men Most Likely to Be Mistaken for Pete Doherty's Craven Wanna-Be Mini Me.
