I woke up, noticing how the space beside me was empty. It is never empty in the morning, never. Jack is a late sleeper and usually wakes up around noon and would stumble his way down into the kitchen, where I were I was usually heading out.

I sat up and looked around, he was nowhere in sight. "Jack?" I called, and I didn't hear a response. I sighed and pulled myself out of bed and walked down the stairs, telling myself that he was so going to get it, when I came across him. I wound up in the kitchen where there was no sign on him and instead there was a pudding cup on the counter. I picked it up and looked at the sticky note attached which read in Jack's messy scrawl:

My sisters gave me Pet Shop Boy's "How Can You Expect to be Taken Seriously?" single STILL IN THE PLASTIC!!!! I was extremely excited. The record not only is as old as me, but it had never been played. It would have stayed that way too had I not received my Red Ryder BB Gun of gifts. Yes, My Mom got me a turntable! It's the Crosby, which wasn't the one I had my eye on, but it's far Superior.
Using the defense of "Neil and Chris would want me to listen to this." I ripped open the plastic and slid the vinyl on. It's beautiful.
So far I've heard several tracks we can't get on MP3, including the ultra rare Bobby O original version of "West End Girls."
